What should I take with me on a journey with the Trans-Siberian Railway?
What things should I take with me on a journey by Trans-Siberian Railway?

It's a very often question from people who want to travel. Everything depends on type, time and season of the year that you're planning your trip in. It's a common fact that a winter trip to Yakutsk needs a litttle different preparation than a summer visit to Elbrus or Lake Baikal. However, there is some stuff that you should always have at hand.

Basic things you should always take:

1. First aid kit, although the basic means (painkillers, stomach measures, slices, hydrogen peroxide, tweezers - for splinters, ticks, etc.),
2. Insurance (it's always worth to have one!)
3. A copy of passport kept separately from documents,
4. Addresses and phone numbers of nearest Polish Consulates or EU Consulates
5. A map of the area you're going to,
6. Glossary of the local language (in the former Soviet Union countries Russian is usually accebtable),
7. Some cash for a rainy day, small denomination of 1, 2, 5, 10 USD,
8. At least 0,5l of mineral water, it's always useful,
9. Raincoat or windbreaker - some jacket,
10. Fleece or sweater, something for cooler days,
11. Sleeping bag, particularly useful in the Plackarta car,
12. String... when something breaks off or needs to be tied, a string is always useful,
13. Loose clothing, some breathable t-shirt + shorts, it's great to have it during some long train journeys, eg. to Siberia, or during summer, when it's hot,
14. Flip flaps made of rubber or plastic,
15. Cosmetics: small towel, soap, deodorant, toothpaste (toothbrush should be classical and not electrical)
16. At least 3 sets of underwear (3 x PSS: pants, shirt, socks).
17. And last but no less important - some common sense :)

And remember:
"Since the temple`s head does not hurt ... their back does, because of all they have to carry."
